Summer Reading Project

I chose  "I'll Give You The Sun." In this book some of the major character are Noah and Jude. It seems like Noah, Fry, and Zhphyr have some sort of conflict and Noah is against the two. I think they may be bullying Noah. Jude seems to have a problem with the past maybe. He said he wish he didn't do some things he did when he was young. I wonder what some of the things he did were and will Noah figure out what to do with his problem? Also a conflict is between Jude and Noah. They were super close when they were younger but now they don't talk much. Will they figure this out or will they be separated for life. Some connections I can make is being separated form my sibling. It's happens some times and you just have to work through it.

Noah seems like he is depressed and I think Jude is almost like this too. Both don't like to share their feelings and that may be why. If they don't do this they won't be happy at all. But I think they both want to be happy and figure this out just they don't know how to go about it. Also I think the two want to talk and be better siblings to each other because they used to be so close and now they don't talk much anymore. I think if they worked that out it would solve a lot of problems. Some themes that are coming out in this book are family, problems, and relationships. The structure of it is strong. It has lots of twist and gets you down but the changes the whole dynamics of the story.

“This is how it all begins. With Zephyr and Fry—reigning neighborhood sociopaths—torpedoing after me and the whole forest floor shaking under my feet as I blast through air, trees, this white-hot panic.” ( I'll Give You The Sun. Page:10). The reason I chose this quote is because this is one of the first lines in the book so it has to hook you to make you want to continue reading. This one does it too because it gives you the sense of panic and you want to know what happens next. That's why they put a sentence like that in the beginning. He is being chased by two boys, so you want to know why they are chasing him and what happens like if they catch him or if he gets away. This is why this book is so good because there are so many of these cliff hangers and such that continually bring you back into the story!

They reason I chose this novel was because I heard that a lot of people were reading it and they said it was really good, so I have it a try. Also when I heard of it I thought that the tittle sounded interesting so it kinda drew me in. Some connections I made to this book were like the conflitcts the two bothers had. I personally have a sister so you can imagine how some things go. That is why I can relate because you will get in arguments and stop talking after a while. But you really need to try and stay together and I think that is what this story is trying to tell you. I would really reckoned this book to anyone, but mainly to people who have a brother or sister because the people in the book can be like a role model to how to figure a problem out. Over all I really enjoyed the book and I think everyone probably would!

English Final Blog Reflections

The blog that I choose was my satire activity post. I liked this post because the picture in it was funny to me. Also I think it show some how I can analyze things. The picture was people standing outside the health department building, and the were all smoking. So I said obviously this isn't health and that people should learn no to smoke. I also explained how this is irony, and it is because the health department is supposed to help you be healthy and people are outside smoking and that is not healthy!

The Bourne Identity

This book starts out crazy because at first it is a scene on a boat where someone is getting shot and thrown off a boat! Then a fishing boat later finds the man who was shot and takes him into care. On the way back the man wakes up and began to speak. They fishermen ask him what happend but he is not really sure. He does not remember much so it is difiucult to price a story together.

Satire Activity

This is irony to me because it says" Department of Health" and people are there smoking. Smoking is obviously not good for you so when you sand outside of the department of health, it's irony. I think the purpose of this picture is to show you one, that you shouldn't smoke and two, that people are kinda dumb because they smoke outside of places like this!

Bear in the neighborhood? Thrilling, not nuisance

Krista Ramsey

The bear was not seen as a threat to Krista but more as a happy thing. Along with other animals that come through her yard she lets them pass, and she keeps the peace.

"Maybe it's the sense that our carefully controlled world still has room for something wild and unexpected." What this linemshows is that even in a suburban area, acts of nature can happen and it can be amazing. The syntax in this is also good. I like how she says "carefully controlled world". That is also sort of the style of writing that she does. Its got its own feel to it.

Update on Trackers

While they where playing around with the code they got another letter. It basically said listen or your friends are in real danger. You have ten hours to learn the scripts, and in there was their social security numbers to show that they meant business and that they could take their identity's! They also threatened to drain Adams dad's account and take their computer shop if he didn't listen. So Adam started to work on the codes.
